July 12, 2021
It's July 12, 2021. On this day in 1990, Nintendo and Square published Final Fantasy for the Nintendo Entertainment System. How'd it do? Well, the series is still going, so we guess things went well. Not so 'final' after all. ⏰ Today's Big Stories... in 30 Seconds Today We Watched, Read, and Listened to (so you don't have to): 207 articles, 3 podcasts, 2 press releases, 179 tweets, and 6 YouTube videos 1. Amazon Adds Watch Party Compatibility To FireTV Devices You can now host or join an Amazon Prime Video Watch Party through Amazon FireTV devices. Who's ready for a remote movie night? 2. WhatsApp Will Let You Choose the Quality of Media You Send WhatsApp will let users share better quality photos and videos in a future app update. Based on screenshots of an upcoming Android beta, you'll be able to select "Auto (recommended)," "Best quality," and "Data saver." Seems pretty straightforward. iOS users, we expect you'll get this too, so don't feel left out. 3. PrintNightmare Fix Doesn't Agree With Some Printers The PrintNightmare security flaw that left Windows open to attack has been fix, but now there are connection problems with some printers. The solution? Microsoft says you should go into the system registry and check some values. Uncomfortable with that? Guess you'll have to wait for another fix. Sorry! 🦑 Go Deeper The iPad is a good piece of tech, but is the M1 MacBook Air just better? Charlie Sorrel seems to think so, as it convinced him to leave the Apple tablet behind. Whoa. 🎱 By the Numbers Primed and Ready Data: Business of Apps, Amazon Amazon Prime Video has never longed for attention, and it seems there's even less chances of that happening now. In 2021, the streaming service has ~175 million users, and we bet it'll clear 200 million before the year's over. Seriously, who doesn't have Amazon Prime these days? 🔥 Today's Hot Deal
