Responsibly, of course. ⏰ Today's Big Stories... in 30 Seconds Today We Watched, Read, and Listened to (so you don't have to): 237 articles, 5 podcasts, 4 press releases, 150 tweets, and 6 YouTube videos 1. Expect an Updated iPad mini Release in Fall 2021 New reports suggest Apple will release a new iPad mini this fall, as well as a new iMac. The updated iPad will be similar to the iPad Air, be around 8.5- to 9-inches, and use the A14 Bionic processor. The new iMac, meanwhile, may have a larger screen size, rivaling the 27-inch Intel models. What, too big? 2. Android 12 Will Allow 'Play As You Download' For Mobile Games Android 12 is getting a new feature called 'Play as You Download' this fall, allowing people to play games while they're still downloading. According to Google, it's seeing games open "at least 2 times faster," but we'll probably have to wait for a future beta to see for ourselves. 3. FCC Says Okay to Amazon Monitoring Sleep With Radar The FCC has approved an Amazon device that would use radar to track movement. According to Amazon, using radar makes it possible to capture movement in 3D space, helps those with with mobility and speech impairments, and improves sleep-tracking tech. More ways to track us? Yay? 🦑 Go Deeper TikTok is getting into the video resume business, but how useful is it? Erin Miller has the deep dive on TikTok Resumes, and how it may not be a completely new concept. 🎱 By the Numbers Slow takeover Data: Business of Apps While it's likely most iOS devices are using the latest OS, Android is completely different. Its latest version, Android 11, only has 17.5% of the Android OS market share. The rest is Android 10, Android 9.0 Pie, and earlier. Yes, even Android 6.0 Marshmallow is still running on a small number of devices. Wow. 🔥 Today's Hot Deal
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro are enjoying an $80 price drop on Woot right now, bringing them down to $120. Who said AirPods were your only option? Pick these up now! 🤓 Nerd Out "One keyboard-replacing brain implant, please." —Molly McLaughlin, Senior Content Strategist Writing can be hard, even if you have the words in your head. (Share on Twitter) 💎 You Know You Want It Gonna need a bigger desk... and hands Image: KPrepublic Most keyboards are made for human hands and normal sized desks, but this Red Dragon Alien Super Big Keyboard is here to challenge that. Pretty straightforward pitch here: it's a giant USB keyboard with a backlit panel. There's no number pad, though. Probably because it'd be too big at that point. 🙈 Wait, What? Learn and adaptable Some may think Bluetooth can be negatively impacted by Wi-Fi and other devices, but the reality is this isn't an issue. If two devices try to use the same radio frequency, Bluetooth will simply switch to another one and continue like normal. Nice. 🗞 Extra! Extra! We've got you covered with the best in daily tech news!
