September 28, 2021
It's September 29, 2021. Oh, hey! It's National Coffee Day—drink up. Of course, it's coffee day every day around here, so maybe we'll grab an extra fancy one for a change. ⏰ Today's Big Stories... in 30 Seconds Today We Watched, Read, and Listened to (so you don't have to): 261 articles, 6 podcasts, 13 press releases, 486 tweets, and 8 YouTube videos 1. Amazon Unveils New Echo Show 15 Smart Display It's a smart screen, smart speaker, digital photo frame, television, and AI overlord all in one. Heck, it even knows what you look like. Amazon's latest Echo Show 15 Smart Display has it all and it's coming to your house later this year. (You still have to buy it, of course. It's not just showing up. We think.) 2. Skullcandy Unveils New Wireless Earbuds With Skull-iQ Tech We're not 100% sure what "Skull-iQ" means, but it sounds pretty metal. The latest earbuds from Skullcandy, the Grind Fuel and Push Active, have just come out. They feature cool stuff like Spotify integration, voice commands, and over-the-air updates. 3. Skype Announces New Features and a Modern Redesigned Look Let's face it, Skype has been looking a little old school lately in a world full of Zoom calls. Microsoft announced that the venerable voice over IP app will now work in any browser, and it has a brand new, brighter, more colorful interface. 🦑 Go Deeper Microsoft has announced the new Surface Adaptive Kit, which is basically a bunch of stickers that support accessibility for the company's latest laptops and tablets. Our own Charlie Sorrel takes a deeper look at the new kit and wonders why they aren't available for all our devices. 🎱 By the Numbers Amazon has the lead Data: VisualCapitalist It's pretty clear from the data above, even from 2019, that Amazon is far ahead of the rest of the pack, though Google isn't too bad off. Poor Apple and Sonos, though; they're not quite in the same league. 🔥 Today's Hot Deal

This newly-created nanoscale material could be the answer to our planet's fuel needs by splitting seawater into oxygen and hydrogen. (Share on Twitter) 💎 You Know You Want It Tap your way to success Image: Microsoft Since it's likely many of us will be working remotely for a while, why not go for a massive Surface Hub 2S display that works with Microsoft Teams? If nothing else, you can be the coolest work from home employee ever. 🚀 Facing the Future Oceans of effort Cleaning up the ocean's waste plastic is only one step toward a future that's less polluted. What to do with all the plastic we collect from the sea, though? Samsung may have some ideas, including using it in their future phones. 🗞 Extra! Extra!
