September 10, 2021
It's September 10, 2021. Welcome to another Friday! As always, we're here to introduce new music to your life, and hopefully improve your weekend, if only by a little. Enjoy: Apple Music | Spotify ⏰ Today's Big Stories... in 30 Seconds Today We Watched, Read, and Listened to (so you don't have to): 434 articles, 9 podcasts, 14 press releases, 191 tweets, and 14 YouTube videos 1. Amazon Reveals First Amazon-Built TVs and Fire TV Stick 4K Max Amazon has revealed the Fire TV Omni Series Smart TVs, the Fire TV 4-Series, and the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. All three have Alexa built-in, to make accessing content easier. You can buy the Fire TV Stick 4K Max now for $54.99, while the new TVs release next month and start at $409.99 and $369.99, respectively. 2. Facebook Introduces New Ray-Ban Stories Smart Glasses Facebook and EssilorLuxottica have launched the Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses, designed to make smartphone tasks like phone calls and recording videos easier. It has an impressive list of features, too, like a pair of 5MP cameras and speakers built into the temples. Interested? Prices start at $299. 3. Twitter Is Testing Emoji Reactions to Tweets Twitter is currently testing emoji reactions to tweets. The test—only in Turkey—uses five different emoji, like a thinking face emoji or a clapping emoji, but you can still leave a simple "like" if you wish. Expect the test to come to other countries before becoming a mainstay feature. It'd be weird if it didn't. 🦑 Go Deeper Artificial intelligence is everywhere now, even in the news you read. Allison Matyus has the deep dive on AI's growing relationship with the news, including potentially writing some mundane stories itself. 🎱 By the Numbers Some people can't talk without emojis Data: Emojipedia It's unsurprising Twitter wants to bring emojis to more parts of its platform; nearly 20% of tweets last year contained the cute little icons, and studies how shown some people prefer to express themselves through emojis anyway. And besides, aren't we tired of the heart being used for Likes? 🔥 Today's Hot Deal
These Beats Studio 3 wireless noise canceling headphones are $150 off on Best Buy right now, dropping them to $200. Who needs new headphones? You do. Pick these up now. 🤓 Nerd Out "Mr. Anderson. Welcome back." —Kevin Hogan, Content Strategist & Agent Smith, Computer Program A new Matrix movie arrives just in time for Christmas this year, and there's a new trailer to get us excited. Sick back, hit play, and remember that, yeah, The Matrix is pretty cool. (Share on Twitter) 💎 You Know You Want It Nintendo + LEGO? A powerful combination Image: LEGO Been a while since you've been tempted by a LEGO set, so how about this Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block? If you're a fan of Nintendo, Mario, and LEGOs, this 2000+ piece set seems like a no-brainer. Just gotta hold out until it release in October. 🎥 Behind the Scenes A risky convenience? Same-day streaming options for some of the biggest movies this year have been great, but it's also encouraging people to pirate movies again, according to the Motion Picture Association. This probably hurts our chances of fully avoiding going back into movie theaters. Bummer. 🗞 Extra! Extra! We've got you covered with the best in daily tech news!
