It's August 18, 2021. It's National Fajita Day! You know what that means? You have the perfect excuse to replace whatever healthy dinner you had planned with hot, spicy fajitas. Enjoy. ⏰ Today's Big Stories... in 30 Seconds Today We Watched, Read, and Listened to (so you don't have to): 251 articles, 11 podcasts, 9 press releases, 491 tweets, and 4 YouTube videos 1. Google Reveals New Pixel 5a Smartphone With 5G Google revealed the Pixel 5a with 5G on Tuesday. At $449, it looks to be both an upgrade from the Pixel 4a 5G and a more affordable alternative to the Pixel 5 and Pixel 6. It's price tag puts it at $50 less than the Pixel 4a 5G ($499), and about $250 less than the Pixel 5 ($699). Get excited for it to arrive on Aug. 26. 2. Apple Adds Password Manager to iCloud for Windows iCloud for Windows can now manage passwords in your keychain. You can edit, copy/paste, and add/delete stored passwords, and set up new Keychain accounts. It will also save and sync user names and passwords for websites, but not for apps. Bummer, but we guess it couldn't handle everything for us. 3. YouTube Boosts its Search Function with New Features YouTube is improving its search capabilities with video previews, expanded accessibility with videos in other languages, and more. The company says these new features will "help people more easily search and find content on YouTube," but let's be real: it'll just keep us on YouTube even longer. Win-win? 🦑 Go Deeper Do we need more photo-sharing apps? If you're listening to Charlie Sorrel, then yes, and you should look into Glass, an ad- and algorithm-free alternative to Instagram. 🎱 By the Numbers Many eyes on YouTube Data: Pew Research Center YouTube has a lot of viewers, content creators, subscribers, etc, but it's actually more surprising to see how many people don't go to the video platform everyday. Based on research from Pew Research, ~50% of surveyees don't use YouTube everyday. How? What are they doing with their time? Wild. 🔥 Today's Hot Deal
