AUGUST 4, 2021
It's August 4, 2021. It's National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day! This one's pretty self-explanatory. Just load up on the best type of cookie in the world and have a great day! ⏰ Today's Big Stories... in 30 Seconds Today We Watched, Read, and Listened to (so you don't have to): 407 articles, 7 podcasts, 14 press releases, 259 tweets, and 7 YouTube videos 1. Apple's Magic Keyboard Available Separately From $149 Apple has made its Magic Keyboards with Touch ID available for individual purchase, for $149 and $179, respectively. If you've ever wanted to get your hands on the regular model or the one with a number pad, but didn't want to buy an entire computer to get it, now's your chance. Go, go, go! 2. Twitter Now Lets You Log In With Google and Apple IDs Twitter users can now log in using a Google or Apple ID, though the two don't work exactly the same. See, while a Google ID can be used on Android, iOS, and on the web, an Apple ID can only be used on Apple devices. And even then, it's currently only for the app, not Twitter.com. Come on, Apple. 3. Spotify Tests an Ad-Supported Monthly Plan Spotify is testing a new subscription plan that would maintain ads, but offer unlimited skips for less than the $10 Premium tier. The test is using a number of different price points—most notably $1/month, but this is unlikely to be the final price. Could this be enough to turn free users into paid subscribers? 🦑 Go Deeper The Zens magnetic charging station can charge an iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods, and a fourth device simultaneously, but is it worth it? Sascha Brodsky think so, and he's ready to drop $150 on it to find out. 🎱 By the Numbers The phones have it Data: Business of Apps Twitter has millions of users, and a majority of them access the social media platform from the comforts of their phones and tablets. It's understandable, really—we're always near our smart devices, and we've always got an itch to pick them up. May as well spend some time doom-scrolling, right? 🔥 Today's Hot Deal
