AUGUST 31, 2021
It's August 31, 2021. It's National Eat Outside Day. Pretty self explanatory if you ask us. Take breakfast, lunch, or dinner outside and enjoy the fresh air. You know, provided the weather allows for it. ⏰ Today's Big Stories... in 30 Seconds Today We Watched, Read, and Listened to (so you don't have to): 291 articles, 9 podcasts, 11 press releases, 441 tweets, and 7 YouTube videos 1. Windows Will Tell You If You Can Run Windows 11 Compatibility with Windows 11 has been a concern for some as the public release approaches, primarily due to Microsoft requiring TPM 2.0. Fortunately, the company has implemented a new compatibility message to indicate whether or not your PC will be able to run the new OS. Much appreciated. 2. New PS5 Model Has Smaller, Lighter Heatsink A new PS5 digital model has been released in certain regions that is now 0.6 pounds (300 grams) lighter than the launch model and has a new heatsink that is both smaller and less powerful. End result? It may be cheaper for Sony to produce, but could also lead to performance issues. Awesome. (Not really.) 3. Clubhouse Jumps on Spatial Audio Bandwagon According to a Tweet from Clubhouse, spatial audio is now available for iOS users, with Android compatibility coming soon. The feature should make it easier to tell who is talking in a room when you're listening with headphones. Cool! Makes sense for an audio app to provide good audio quality. 🦑 Go Deeper Do we need more wireless earbuds? Joshua Hawkins spent some time with Nothing's new $99 ear (1) earbuds, and came away thinking they're off to a great start to take on the competition. We guess the answer is 'yes.' 🎱 By the Numbers People are checking out the clubhouse Data: Business of Apps Clubhouse is doing big numbers, at least, when it comes to total downloads. What started off as a mere 700,000 downloads last November slowly grew until it exploded in February 2021, jumping to 15 million. In June 2021, the app added another 14 million. The numbers, they continue to go up! 🔥 Today's Hot Deal
Apple's 10.9-Inch iPad Air (64GB, Wi-Fi) is $100 off on Best Buy for a limited time, making it $499. You know what we're gonna say: Need a new iPad? You can't go wrong with the Air. 🤓 Nerd Out "Don't look at me, me!" —Kyree Leary, Associate News Editor As people spend more time in video calls and meetings, medical professionals have realized some people have developed "Zoom dysmorphia." And it's following them from their PCs into the real world. (Share on Twitter) 💎 You Know You Want It It doesn't have any apps? Perfect Image: uncommon goods Do away with that iPhone and pick up this Bluetooth Banana Phone instead. This fruit can be paired with your smartphone, allowing you to accept calls and talk through it for up to 10 hours. Not enough time for potassium-powered shenanigans? Charge it through USB and keep the fun times going. 🙈 Wait, What? Change is good... when done properly Changing your password periodically is good for security, right? Well, it can be. You're in the clear if you replace you passwords with something wildly different, but too many of us only switch things up a little bit before moving on. In the future, we need to do more of the former than the latter. For safety! 🗞 Extra! Extra! We've got you covered with the best in daily tech news! Apple Updates AirTags To Do... Something
AUGUST 30, 2021
It's August 30, 2021. It's National Just Because Day! Maybe take a nap, have some tacos, open a coloring book, or buy a new PC. Why? Because the day allows you to do so. Have fun... responsibly. ⏰ Today's Big Stories... in 30 Seconds Today We Watched, Read, and Listened to (so you don't have to): 211 articles, 5 podcasts, 6 press releases, 371 tweets, and 9 YouTube videos 1. Apple Releases AirTags Firmware Update Apple has released an AirTag update without specifying what it adds. Reports suggest it may include Android support to detect AirTags and anti-stalking features. Or it could be minor bug fixes. Maybe it's neither. Either way, your AirTags should update automatically, because we don't get a choice here. 2. New Pixel 5a Ad Wants You to Know About the Headphone Jack The latest ad for the Google Pixel 5a was released Friday, and instead of hyping up its screen or improved hardware, Google decided to focus on the headphone jack—or "the circle" as the ad refers to it. It's likely you already know what this particular port is, but give it a watch anyway. It's a fun 2-mins. 3. Twitter Announces Testing for Paid Ticketed Spaces Twitter may soon let you make money from Spaces you host. Twitter's official Spaces account announced it's testing Ticketed Spaces, giving some users the ability to set a price to listen to the Spaces they host. It's only trying the feature on iOS for now, but hopes to get it to everyone soon. Sign us up! 🦑 Go Deeper A good headset can really improve your listening experience, which is exactly what happened to Jen Allen when she tried the new Corsair HS80 gaming headset. She called it "meditative," which certainly piqued our interest. 🎱 By the Numbers Twitter's fighting for your attention Data: statcounter We've said before that Twitter is popular and isn't hurting for users, but even then, it's only accounting for ~8% of people's social media attention. Over the last year, it's rarely hit above 10%, but it's still the #2 social media platform when it comes to market share. First place? You guessed it: Facebook. 🔥 Today's Hot Deal

Well, you could either practice, or build an auto-aiming bow. Honestly, we're not sure which is harder. (Share on Twitter) 💎 You Know You Want It Can a TV be too big? Nope! Image: C SEED For those out there with a bare wall and a TV that doesn't quite live up to their ambitions, C Seed is here with an enormous, 19-ft wide 4K TV called the C SEED 256.
