It's June 7, 2021. It's National Chocolate Ice Cream Day! There are a lot of ways to improve a Monday, and ice cream is certainly one of them. Treat yourself to some. ⏰ Today's Big Stories... in 30 Seconds Today We Watched, Read, and Listened to (so you don't have to): 287 articles, 4 podcasts, 11 press releases, 300 tweets, and 10 YouTube videos 1. New Windows Version Could Be Revealed During June 24 Event Microsoft's new OS update, perhaps Windows 11 and reportedly named Sun Valley, will be unveiled during a Windows event on June 24. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella teased the update in May, referring to it as "one of the most significant updates to Windows of the past decade." Consider us intrigued. 2. Apple's Upcoming iPad Pro to Feature Wireless Charging Tangling with power cords may become a distant memory for iPad Pro users, as new reports claim its 2022 model will make use of wireless charging. The new tablet would also sport a new glass back, as well as have its own reverse charging feature to power other devices. Sound too good to be true? 3. New AirTag Update Acknowledges User Privacy Concerns People shouldn't be thrilled by the idea that AirTags could be used to track people, making a recent update all the more appreciated. The update shortens and randomizes the window in which AirTags sound an alert, which should make it harder to stalk people with them. Phew. Thanks, Apple. 🦑 Go Deeper We've become more invested in our privacy over the last couple years. Joshua Hawkins delves into how both iOS and Android have improved protections against app trackers, and how Apple's more granular approach may be the way to go. 🎱 By the Numbers Windows is doing alright Data: Statcounter Android may have the biggest share of the OS market at 41%, but Windows is holding its own in second place with a sizable 30%. The two platforms that can be on hardware made by other companies are in the lead? Who could've guessed that? 🔥 Today's Hot Deal
