Microsoft Will Shut Down Internet Explorer Next Year After 25 years online with millions of users surfing the web, Microsoft will shut down Internet Explorer in June 2022 in favor of Edge. Changes will start before then, though, with services like Microsoft 365 ending support for IE in August. Regardless, it's a heck of a run for the ol' browser. 2.
