November 11, 2021
It's November 11, 2021, which means it's Veterans Day. Today, remember to honor the brave people who serve and have served in our US military. And if you personally know someone who has, definitely reach out. ⏰ Today's Big Stories... in 30 Seconds Today We Watched, Read, and Listened to (so you don't have to): 450 articles, 12 podcasts, 15 press releases, 403 tweets, and 22 YouTube videos 1. Apple Says It Will Fix iPhone 13 Screen Repair Issues There's been much scrutiny surrounding the iPhone 13 disabling FaceID when a third party replaces the screen. So much so that it seems Apple has pivoted on the idea, saying that a fix is planned for the future. When in the future? Apple didn't say, so maybe keep those iPhone 13s safe and intact. 2. iOS 15.2 Beta Lets You Scan for AirTags and More With the release of the iOS 15.2 beta on Tuesday, Apple has added several new features to test out. Specifically, the Find My app has received a huge update, including the option to scan for AirTags and other Find My-enabled items that could be tracking you through them. Always good to know who's watching. 3. Google Home Update Adds Android/Google TV Remote Google just rolled out a dedicated Android/Google TV remote control app as part of its Google Home 2.46 update. Those who own an Android/Google TV or Chromecast device will no longer need to use a packed-in remote, and can instead, finally, use their Android phone or tablet. Yeah, we'll take that trade. 🦑 Go Deeper If you're providing personal info to strangers over the phone, stop it. Then join Sascha Brodsky, who is here to warn you about new voice bots hackers are using to steal passwords. Seriously, stop yelling that stuff into your phone. 🎱 By the Numbers Slowly taking over Data: Mixpanel iOS 15 hasn't even been around for two whole months, but we were curious to see how many people have made the jump from iOS 14. As we can see, people are using it, and it's slowly cutting into iOS 14's hold on iPhones. Give it another few weeks, and iOS 15 will probably overtake its predecessor. 🔥 Today's Hot Deal
