1. Meta Says the Next Quest VR Headset Will Arrive in 2023

You won't have to wait too long for the more consumer-friendly Quest 2 successor to arrive, as Meta has confirmed that such a headset will release sometime next year. Good thing they're saying this now, otherwise someone may have spent $1,500 on a Quest Pro they didn't really need.

2. FCC Proposes New Rules to Improve Emergency Alerts on Phones

Want better emergency alerts? So does the FCC, as the organization has just proposed plans to "further secure the Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts." This also means we might receive fewer fake emergency notifications, which we're definitely fans of.

3. Apple Removes Gambling Ads From App Store Listings

Expect to see fewer ads related to gambling on the App Store, as Apple has "paused" them following complaints from developers. The company didn't disclose the specific reason for their removal, or say if they might return, but for now, enjoy browsing without having to deal with those pesky ads.

As good as the Quest Pro may be, we hope it didn't convince anyone to rush out and buy one—it's just too dang expensive. If anything, it probably gave the "Unlikely" group more of a reason to hold off or not worry about it, and made the Quest 2's $399 seem like a steal to those looking to jump into VR.
